1st Annual ESDAA Basketball Tournament New Jersey School for the Deaf, West Trenton, NJ · February 25–26, 1927 ASD players were eager to compete in the Eastern Deaf School Championship. However, a school quarantine prevented the team from traveling, forcing ASD to withdraw. The disappointment was strong, as the opportunity slipped away despite full preparation.
The team and coaches expressed sincere thanks to Milford Luden, ASD student, whose car supported travel to away games, to Head Coach Joseph Bouchard for his constant leadership, and to Manager Walter Rockwell for his dedication throughout the season. *Milford’s father, William Henry Luden, developed the menthol cough drop formula and founded the Luden’s company.
